Set up Root Network
Root Network lets you share the internet bandwidth you are not using. The network routes verified, encrypted traffic to public websites through your connection and pays you for it. Set it up once and it runs in the background; pause any time.
Nothing on your device is used or read
The network is not using your computer or looking at anything you do on it. It routes sealed traffic through your IP address, which is entirely separate from your own activity. That means zero access to your private data.
Steps
- Sign in at earn.rootnetwork.coGo to earn.rootnetwork.co and sign in with your email, Google, or a wallet. An account is created for you on first sign-in.
- Install the Root extensionAdd it from the Chrome Web Store (one listing for Chrome, Brave, Edge, Arc and other Chromium browsers), or click Add to Chrome on the Extension page of your dashboard. Then go back to the dashboard: it detects the extension and pairs it with your account automatically. If you install on a second computer, click the Root icon and type the pairing code shown in the dashboard instead.
- Choose your allocationPick what share of your connection the network may use. 25% is a sensible start. You can change or pause it at any time, from the dashboard or the extension.
That's it. Your dashboard now shows your node's status, throughput, and earnings updating live.
Requirements

Running more than one device
You can pair the extension on several computers to the same account. Each shows up as its own node in your dashboard with its own throughput and status, and all of them pay into the same balance. Devices on the same public IP share that IP's demand; the network does not pay twice for the same connection.
Permissions and updates
The extension asks for one site permission, earn.rootnetwork.co, which is its own backend and the only page it ever touches. It uses local storage for your pairing token and settings, and a timer for its 30-second heartbeat. It does not request access to tabs, history, cookies, downloads or the clipboard.
Updates ship through the Chrome Web Store and install in the background, like any other extension. You never need to download anything again.
Pausing and leaving
- Pause from the extension popup or the dashboard. Traffic stops within seconds; your balance is untouched.
- Remove the extension at any time. Your account, history and balance remain available at earn.rootnetwork.co.
